What is Tennis Elbow?
Tennis elbow, also known as lateral epicondylitis and is caused by inflammation of the muscles of the forearm that attach to the elbow.
Symptoms
Symptoms are typically pain and burning on the outside of the elbow. Symptoms may develop over time and may worsen but eventually resolve over time.
Causes and Risks
This can be caused by a repetitive activity. It is a common workplace injury but can also be caused due to sports such as racquetball and tennis.
Treatment and Prevention
Nonsurgical treatment includes:
- Rest
- NSAIDS
- Bracing
- Exercise
- Steroid injections
