Dr. Abdul Sharifi is a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for improving the health and well-being of communities, particularly in New Mexico and surrounding areas. Raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dr. Sharifi’s journey into healthcare began at the University of New Mexico (UNM), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. His academic foundation, combined with a deep-seated desire to make a positive impact on people's lives, led him to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree at the UNM College of Pharmacy. There, he developed the knowledge and skills necessary to help patients manage their health and improve their quality of life.

After completing pharmacy school, Dr. Sharifi embarked on a career in pharmacy, focusing on patient education, disease prevention, and optimizing medication therapy to improve patient outcomes. His professional journey began in outpatient pharmacy settings, where he provided essential care and medication management services to diverse patient populations. In addition to his work in New Mexico, Dr. Sharifi traveled to neighboring states, including Colorado, to provide healthcare support to underserved communities. 

Dr. Sharifi’s commitment to public health is further demonstrated through his active volunteer work. He played a pivotal role in large-scale vaccination and testing initiatives for COVID-19 and influenza, helping to protect vulnerable populations during critical public health crises. His work also included tuberculosis testing across New Mexico to prevent the spread of tuberculosis disease, showcasing his dedication to disease prevention and health promotion.

A lifelong learner and mentor, Dr. Sharifi has always been passionate about sharing his knowledge with the next generation of healthcare professionals. As a preceptor at the UNM College of Pharmacy, he has mentored pharmacy students, providing guidance and inspiration as they navigate the complexities of the profession. His influence has helped shape future leaders in the field of pharmacy, emphasizing the importance of service and community care.

In recognition of his expertise and commitment to patient care, Dr. Sharifi earned the Pharmacist Clinician license in pain management, allowing him to expand his scope of practice and provide specialized care for patients with acute and chronic pain. This advanced credential reflects his dedication to ongoing professional development and to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Sharifi has also worked in inpatient hospital settings, where he cared for critically ill patients and managed medication therapy to improve patient outcomes. His ability to integrate clinical knowledge with compassionate patient care has made him a trusted healthcare provider and leader in his community.

- Licensed Pharmacist in New Mexico, Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina, Idaho, and Texas
- Licensed Pharmacist Clinician in New Mexico
- Board-certified Tuberculin Skin Testing in New Mexico
- Board-certified Nuclear Pharmacist
